Opus 2

€12.00

Beethoven's Easy Piano Sonatas, Op. 49, has a misleading opus number. The compositions were completed soon after the Sonatas Op. 2 and probably in part, if not all, before his Sonata Op. 7. Beethoven utilized the "Kafka Miscellany" sketchbook for several years, first in Bonn and then later in Vienna, up until the late 1790s. The second sonata appears to be older than the first. For the Menuet in the Septet op. 20, the composer also recycled the Tempo di Menuetto motif from the second movement. It is one of his most well-known piano compositions, and almost every aspiring pianist encounters it during the first few lessons.
