Opus 2

€19.00

Only one of Beethoven's piano sonatas was arranged for a different instrumentation, and the Sonata op. 14 no. 1 for string quartet still has an authentic version (it is available in an appendix to our publication of the String Quartets op. 18, HN 139/9139). He made this structure to shield himself from mistakes others might make. He approached it meticulously because of this, including, for example, incredibly specific details about dynamics and articulation. This source is also taken into consideration for the revision by renowned pianist Murray Perahia, who is also the co-editor of this new edition of Beethoven's Sonatas. He also adds his own fingerings.
