The pieces in this book were created specifically to guide you in finding specific targets on the cello fingerboard, which are significant notes. The names of the notes that I consider to be targets match those of the open strings. In this technique, I can check the fingered notes with an open string to make sure I always strike the "bull's eye." These compositions will also teach you that once you reach the mark, playing some extra notes is simple.
