Notes From a Diary was jointly commissioned by Th闁荤姵鍔梪nn 闂佺厧楠炴仈 Marin闁荤姵鍔梔闁荤姵鍔梩ir and the Hebrides Ensemble with financial support from Musica Nova, the Ministry of Culture in Iceland, NESTA and the Scottish Arts Council. It was first performed on 3 June 2005 by Th闁荤姵鍔梪nn 闂佺厧楠炴仈 Marin闁荤姵鍔梔闁荤姵鍔梩ir (viola) and Kristinn 闂佺厧濞堟獢 Kristinsson (piano) at the Ymir Concert Hall, Reykjavik, Iceland as part of the International Viola Congress.
